‘Water Rhythms’ is a three-screen projection creating a totally immersive experience. The video communicates a sense of vastness, the force of the sea and our own vulnerability but it also transmits the sea’s ability to be calm and meditative. It explores the complex relationship between humans and water. The accompanying soundscape is edited water recordings from above and below the surface. The underwater recordings give it a unique rhythmical beat as if it is the heartbeat of the sea, in contrast to the more familiar sounds of waves breaking on the shore. Together they create a rhythmical reverberation.
